Atlantic Harmonies Youth Choirs

I served as the secretary on the board of directors for Atlantic Harmonies Youth Choirs, a nonprofit choir organization in Maine, from February 2023 until February 2024. In this role, I learned about the inner workings of nonprofit organizations, helped write the organization’s mission and vision statements, brainstormed fundraising ideas, wrote press releases, took minutes at each monthly meeting, and spearheaded the research and selection process for the grants the organization applied to. My grantwriting efforts singlehandedly earned the choir $21,000, namely from the Onion Foundation and the David A. Dionne Charitable Trust. This position ingnited my passion for providing new and enriching opportunities for young people.
